There are more and more “gastronauts“, travelers looking for experiences related to local food and wine, especially in a country like Italy where wine and typical products are the result of the territories and the millenary history that the country boasts.

Exploring cellars and vineyards in Apulia and Basilicata

As Slow Italy Tours, we are slowly but consistently connecting the dots of cellars, vineyards and tasting facilities that are dedicated to pursue excellency in this field, in the yet wildly mysterious Basilicata or in the more renowned Apulia. Surely when it comes to these two, Apulia and Basilicata are the new frontiers when you reason around wine tourism in Italy.

Our last trip done to extend our knowledge of what our territory can offer in terms of tradition, evolution and new trends of wine making, and of course to make it accessible to the wine enthusiasts, we travelled around Salento and visited historical cellars that opened their doors for us so as so Negroamaro, Primitivo, Susumaniello and Malvasia will have no secrets for you too.

Our new partners’ wineries in Apulia

Cantina Gianfranco Fino, Tenute Rubino and Masseria Li Reni are among our new partners that will welcome you and show their wineries. From the vineyards to the “bottaia” where you can see the wines aging in the barrels, to the degustation rooms where you taste their final craft and can buy few bottles for your collection.

Currently the routes of wine or “Enoturism” are considered a type of food tourism on its own, with its practises and experiences and is intended at getting to know and appreciate locally-grown vines and their regions.

Our participation in the next Good Italy Workshop

Within this in mind and with our heartfelt approach of sharing and promoting what is authentic, and what can also meet the expectations of wine and food lovers, we will participate in the newt Good Italy Workshop (October 2023) in Piacenza which is the meeting place for the tourism professionals inspired by Italian wine & gastronomy.

We will be there as sellers, confidently to sell inspiring experiences one can have in our treasured southern Italy.
